This new show coming to ABC in September looks very promising. Especially, if you are like me and love anything and everything to do with superheroes and superpowers. The premise of the show is not a new one. It's basically a combination of The Fantastic Four meets the Disney Pixar movie The Incredibles. In the short preview linked above, the family headed by Michael Chiklis is involved in a plane crash in the Amazon. The plane crashes into the mysterious river, which in turn gives the family super powers. The show is a journey through what mysterious chemical in the river gave the family their powers and also about the family discovering what powers they have. For example, in the preview Chikis not only seems to be indestructible, but can also jump building (like Superman). The rest of the family has different powers. Chiklis' wife has super speed (such as the Flash) while his daughter can has telekinesis and his son has an amazing ability to perform math.
Overall, this show looks like it could be promising. No, it is not a new premise, but it's been a while since a show like this was on national prime time tv.
